The International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza: The medical system in the sector collapsed – the seventh day

The spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip, Hisham Muhanna, confirmed that there is no safe place in the Strip, noting that the Israeli attacks affected relief workers, humanitarian service providers and ambulance teams.

Muhanna said, during a telephone conversation with the “Cairo News” channel on Friday evening, that the Gaza Strip is facing a suffocating humanitarian crisis after the resumption of military operations on March 18, calling on the Israeli occupation forces to stop hostilities, make political efforts, open the crossings, and achieve the humanitarian response.

He pointed out that there is a great difficulty in transportation due to limited resources and fuel deficiency, and that the continued closure and siege of the Gaza Strip hinders the arrival of human support to the Palestinians, stressing the need to allow civilians to reach everything necessary to keep them alive.

He explained that the Israeli evacuation orders for the Palestinians include large areas in the sector, knowing that 40% of the total area of the sector is under the control of the occupation army and no one can approach them.

He added that there is a complete collapse in the health care system in the Gaza Strip, pointing out that the continued closure of the Karam Abu Salem crossing is the ability of humanitarian teams to provide their services in the sector and it is very difficult to continue to perform humanitarian services due to the dangerous developments that occur on the ground in Gaza, continuing that our headquarters in “Rafah Palestinian” was exposed to an explosive shell during the month of March.
