The Libyan Supreme Council warns of the repercussions of an informal meeting of Libyan parties in America – the seventh day

The Supreme Council in Libya stressed that the meeting to be held by some Libyan parties in the United States of America does not have any formal capacity, warning of the danger of using such informal meetings to circumvent legitimacy and impose a fait accompli that violates the foundations of the political process in Libya.

The council said- in a statement, reported by the Libyan News Agency (WAL), Thursday- that the bodies called for it are not American governmental institutions, but rather Libyan parties residing in the United States operating under the umbrella of a civil organization that does not have any representative characteristic of the Libyan state or its legitimate institutions.

The Supreme Council of the State considered that any outputs or understandings issued by this meeting are not binding on it in any way, calling on all local and international parties to respect the decisions of the legitimate Libyan state institutions and adhere to the path based on respect for national laws and will.
