Chairman of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Tunisia clarifies the condition of candidacy of local members of Parliament – the seventh day

The head of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Tunisia, Farouk Bouakar, confirmed today, Thursday, on the sidelines of the announcement of the partial legislative elections in the Northern Bizerte district, that members of the local councils can run for parliament, but in the form of victory, the winner must submit his resignation after the elections.

Bouakkar stressed that the seven circles that remain vacant abroad were not accomplished for formal legal reasons, explaining that these reasons are the availability of the requirement for vacancy, the authority’s informing it by the legislative position, and the publication of the official pioneer, which is not available until now, according to his confirmation, adding that the authority is ready for any elections.
