The Israeli Channel Seven attributed to Zamir as saying during a field inspection tour to assess the situation in the Tal Al -Sultan area: “We will maintain operational ambiguity and the element of surprise, so the field will show the truth … The only thing that will stop our progress is the release of our hostages, so their return will enable our forces to restore them, and will enable the continuation of negotiations.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had issued a statement – earlier today – regarding Israel’s intensification of its operations in the Gaza Strip, and announced that Israel would control an additional corridor.

He added: “Last night in the Gaza Strip, we changed our path. The army dominates lands, hit the militants, and destroys the infrastructure. We also do something else: we control the Maurrage Corridor. This will be an additional Philadelphi corridor.”
He explained that the reason for this is that “we are now dividing the sector and increasing pressure gradually, so that they deliver our hostages.”
