The Israeli army announces the targeting of Hezbollah in the southern suburb of Beirut – the seventh day

The Israeli army announced today, Tuesday, that it had targeted a Hezbollah element in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

In a statement reported by the Israeli newspaper (Yediot Aharonot), the Israeli army added that, under the direction of the Israeli General Security Service (the Shin Bet), the Israeli Air Force launched an air strike targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut, which the army said “is a major stronghold for Hezbollah.”

The statement stated that the air raid targeted a Hezbollah element that recently directed Hamas members and helped them plan a major imminent attack.

For his part, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli raid that targeted a building in the southern suburb of Beirut, calling on the international allies to support Lebanon’s right to full regional sovereignty.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said that the Israeli raid is a “clear violation” of the ceasefire agreement that was reached last November between Tel Aviv and Hezbollah.
