Times of Israel: The deterioration of the economic situation of the reserve soldiers in the Israeli army due to the Gaza war – the seventh day

The “Times of Israel” newspaper revealed a significant deterioration of the economic and financial conditions of the reserve soldiers in the Israeli occupation army because of their summons to marry the war on Gaza, whether they are receiving salaries or private business owners, noting that their wives were forced to reduce working hours and accept lower salaries.

The newspaper relied on special statistics issued by the “wives of reserve soldiers” in the Israeli army, which showed that 34 % of the reserve soldiers who obtained salaries “were severely damaged”, because of their summoning to serve in the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.

Statistics also reported that 56 % of the wives of reserve soldiers who receive salaries, confirmed that they were forced to reduce working hours and accept discounts in salaries.

Among the 34 % affected by the soldiers with salaries, a quarter of them were separated, and the second quarter must leave their jobs, according to the report of the “Wives of Reserve Soldiers”.

The Israeli TV channel (12) also reviewed the “Reserve Wives Forum report,” noting that among the reserve soldiers with private businesses, 72 % of them said that their economic conditions have become much worse .. 54 % of the same category said that their entry fell by more than 50 %.

The report of the television station used another survey study, conducted by the “Israeli Employment Service”, which revealed that 75 % of the reserve soldiers who were included in the questionnaires said they were economically damaged.

Also, 41 % of those who surveyed their views reported that they were expelled from their jobs, or they had to leave them, or closed their facility in which they were working.

The agency tried to alleviate the numbers reported by the survey, saying that these numbers are not a “representative sample” of reserve soldiers in the Israeli army, as the survey participants were limited to 1,000 reserve soldiers.
