Hezbollah Secretary General: We have nothing to do with the last Syrian events – the seventh day

The Secretary -General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Naim Qassem confirmed this evening, Saturday, that the party has nothing to do with the events that took place at the Lebanese -Syrian border and inside Syria recently, according to “Russia Today.”

In a speech to him on the occasion of “International Jerusalem Day”, Naim Qasim said: “There are events that took place at the Lebanese -Syrian border and events that occur inside Syria and have nothing to do with Hezbollah at all with these events.”

Qasim added: “The Lebanese army must have the responsibility for protecting citizens from the attacks that are obtaining the Lebanese -Syrian border.”

This comes, in light of the security tensions witnessed in the Lebanese -Syrian border recently, as violent clashes erupted on the border (northeast of Lebanon), interspersed with the firing of missile shells, which resulted in deaths and injuries, while the situation later stabilized after an agreement between the Lebanese and Syrian defense ministers.

The Syrian and Lebanese sides, under Saudi auspices recently, signed an agreement that emphasizes the strategic importance of demarcating the borders between the two countries, and activating coordination mechanisms to deal with security and military challenges.

And “the outcome of the civilian victims has been increasing in the Syrian coast since March 6, after attacks by local armed groups on sites of security forces and the formations of the Ministry of Defense, which led to a wide military escalation, 1476 civilians, the majority of whom are from the Alawite community,” according to the documentation of the “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.”

While the Independent National Committee was formed to investigate the events of the Syrian coast by a decision of President Ahmed Al -Shara, and it consists of five judges, a criminal security dean, and a human rights defender.

“The tasks of revealing the causes, circumstances and circumstances that led to the occurrence of events and the investigation of the violations that civilians were subjected to and the identification of those responsible for them”, as well as “investigating attacks on public institutions, security men and the army and identifying those responsible for them, as well as referring those who prove their involvement in crimes and violations to the judiciary.”
