UAE is implementing an urgent medical evacuation of 188 injured from Gaza, accompanied by their families – the seventh day

The UAE, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, arrived in the 24th evacuation plane, which carried 81 wounded and sick with cancer from the Gaza Strip, half of them children.

WAM reported that the evacuation plane is coming from Ramon Airport in Israel and through the Karam Abu Salem crossing to receive treatment in state hospitals, accompanied by about 107 members of their families.

This urgent evacuation comes in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the head of state, to provide treatment and health care for 1,000 Palestinian children from the wounded and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in state hospitals.

Immediately after the arrival of the plane, the medical teams took the operation of the wounded and the injured, whose cases were required to transfer them immediately to hospitals to receive health care, while the rest of the cases and accompanying people were transferred to the Humanitarian City of their residence.

This initiative falls within the framework of the historical support of the UAE for the Palestinian people and its standing with the residents of Gaza in the current crisis they face, as Emirati humanitarian initiatives contribute to alleviating the catastrophic effects faced by the residents of the sector, especially the categories of children, women and the elderly.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice President of the Emirates International Aid Agency, said:

Al -Shamsi added, “The UAE will continue to work with international partners and the United Nations to double the endeavors to alleviate this catastrophe and human suffering.”

Since the outbreak of the crisis, the UAE has been keen to provide treatment for the injured as a result of the crisis and the provision of health care to the residents of Gaza through the Emirati Field Hospital stationed in the south of the Strip, and the floating hospital off the coast of the Egyptian city of Al -Arish, in addition to supporting the sector hospitals with equipment, medicines and medical staff.

Since the start of the crisis, the UAE has rushed to provide urgent humanitarian and relief aid and supplies to the Gaza Strip, and these initiatives come as a continuation of the Emirati efforts to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the Strip at an accelerated and coordinated pace as a result of the worsening humanitarian crisis and work to reduce its negative repercussions.
