Macron: At the disposal of the Syrian and Lebanese presidents, the means of preventing arms smuggling – the seventh day

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he was placed at the disposal of Syrian Presidents Ahmed Al -Shara and Lebanese Joseph Aoun as ways to prevent arms smuggling.

In a joint press conference with the Lebanese President at the Elysee Palace, Macron said: “I spoke with Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara and we stressed the sovereignty of Lebanon and Syria and the importance of demarcating borders between the two countries.”

He announced that “there will be a work at the United Nations level to demarcate the Syrian -Lebanese border, and we have put confidence in the transitional administration in Syria to lift the sanctions and are ready to receive the Sharia President.”

He stressed that “before the return of the Syrian refugees to their country, there must be political representation that takes into account the diversity of Syrian society.”

In turn, Aoun said: “Lebanon includes the highest percentage of displaced and refugees,” calling on Paris to support them to return them to their country, especially after the departure of the previous regime, and thus the disappearance of the reasons for their displacement.

Aoun stressed, “We want to build our state and extend its control, and this is what we want to help,” noting that “about 400,000 Syrian displaced people need an international financing plan to return to their country.”
