The Foreign Minister discusses with the Lebanese Prime Minister to enable the Lebanese army to implement Resolution 1701 – the seventh day

The Foreign Minister stressed Egypt’s supportive position and its full condemnation to bomb a building in Beirut this morning, reiterating Egypt’s rejection of any moves that would affect the security, safety and stability of the brotherly Lebanese people. Abdel -Ati also stressed the need for full implementation and commitment to the agreement to stop hostilities in southern Lebanon, the immediate and insecure withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, enable the Lebanese army to implement resolution 1701, and the importance of the full and coinciding of the decision by all parties without selective.

Minister Abdel -Ati expressed Egypt’s great concern about the serious state of escalation in Lebanon, warning of the current risks of escalation, which may lead to the region’s slippage to a dangerous confrontation that threatens regional security. He also stressed the need for the international community to undertake its responsibilities towards stopping the repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty in all its forms, and in a manner that preserves its sovereignty, unity, security and stability.
