Britain and France invite a meeting of the Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Gaza – the seventh day

The United Kingdom and France called for a meeting of the Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the protection of relief employees.

The United Kingdom and France- in a statement distributed by the British embassy in Cairo, said that humanitarian employees are facing increasingly difficult to work in Gaza, and last week the United Nations complex was bombed … describing it as “unacceptable.”

UNRWA confirmed that 8 agency employees were killed last week in the Gaza Strip, noting that “no humanitarian aid has entered the Gaza Strip for more than three weeks,” Palestinian media reported.

The Commissioner -General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) Philip Lazarini – according to (Cairo News Channel) – indicated that last week, he witnessed the bloodiest days in the war on Gaza, adding that the Gaza Strip has been going through the longest period since the war began without any supplies.

The UN official said that more than 140,000 people in Gaza were forced to displacement due to Israeli evacuation orders.

The UNRWA Commissioner -General called for the resumption of the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the detainees, stressing the need to allow a regular flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
