The Arab League praises the role of music in promoting dialogue between cultures – the seventh day

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States praised the role of music in promoting dialogue between cultures, stressing that it is a global language that transcends linguistic and geographical barriers, and contributes to building bridges of understanding between peoples, and in light of the current global challenges, music is manifested as a strong tool for spreading the values ​​of peace and tolerance, and enhancing common human values.

This came in a statement issued by the Arab League today, Thursday, on the occasion of “Arab Music Day”, which is celebrated by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on March 28 of each year, in implementation of the decision of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level on March 6, 2019, considering March 28 of each year as a day to celebrate Arab music, where this day marks the opening of the first Arab music conference on the twenty -eighth of March 1932, this day represents the embodiment of the renewed celebration With the art of music and its deep impact on refining artistic taste and developing talent.

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States called on all Arab countries and cultural and artistic institutions to celebrate this special day, by organizing events and concerts known as Arab musical heritage, highlighting the creations of Arab musicians who actively contribute to enriching the global cultural scene, and opening new horizons of cooperation and interaction between various cultures.

The Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States, Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, said in a statement on this occasion that Arab music is not just tones but rather a living history that narrates the stories of grandparents, and reflects the spirit of the Arab nation with its diversity and richness.

She added that this day represents an opportunity to remind the world of the cultural and artistic contributions that the Arabs have made throughout the ages, which is an invitation to conceal efforts to preserve this precious legacy and enhance its awareness and transfer to future generations.

She stressed the need to support young talents in the field of music, and to launch initiatives that contribute to enhancing the presence of Arab music on the global scene, calling for enhancing cooperation between Arab countries to create training and productive programs concerned with music, and providing platforms dedicated to displaying the creations of Arab musicians, which enhances their vital role in the contemporary cultural scene.
