After his release, the Palestinian director Hamdan Bilal tells the details of the settlers’ attack on him – the seventh day

Palestinian director Hamdan Bilal, one of the participants in directing the Oscar -winning documentary “No Land”, revealed the details of the attack on him by settlers, saying: “Two Israeli soldiers helped the Israeli settlers who assaulted him outside his house and threatened to kill him.”

In an interview with the British newspaper (The Guardian), Bilal listed the violent events that he was exposed to yesterday; As two Israeli soldiers surrounded him, while a settler assaulted him, beat him violently on his head and threatened to shoot him.

“Everything began about six in the evening on Monday,” Bilal added, adding that he had received a phone call that settlers entered the village of Susia, which is located in the south of Hebron in the West Bank.

Eyewitnesses said to the two people that some of the settlers were Bahrawat’s armed men, while one of them carried two knives and one of them carried an M16 rifle, and they entered the village in which Bilal lived with a group of Israeli soldiers, where a settler went with two Israeli soldiers towards Bilal’s house, and the soldiers began shooting in the air to prevent anyone from supporting Bilal, who was crying out for help.

The Palestinian director – who released the Israeli army yesterday after arresting him at a police station in the West Bank – said, “The two soldiers face their guns towards me while a settler began with me from behind, then they threw me a land, and the settler began hitting me on my head, then a soldier also hit me with his rifle on my head.

The newspaper pointed out that Israeli soldiers transferred Bilal, wounded, handcuffed, and blindfolded, with two other Palestinians, to a military vehicle, then to a police station in the Kiryat four settlement in the West Bank.

Bilal, one of the four directors who participated in directing the movie “No Land”, which documents the destruction of the villages in the West Bank, said that Israeli soldiers were beaten while he was arrested in retaliation for the victory of the movie, which he participated in directing the Academy Award.

He pointed out that the film won the Academy Award three weeks ago and since then violence has escalated not only towards it or towards activists and the film crew but against all the population.

The Guardian indicated that during the war in Gaza, Israel killed hundreds of Palestinians in the West Bank during large -scale military operations, and settlers’ attacks on the Palestinians escalated.
