Internet interruption throughout Syria – the seventh day

Net Network Security Monitoring has reported that it had monitored the interruption of Internet service throughout Syria early Tuesday.

“The network data indicates the internet interruption in the country in Syria, which confirms reports on the failure of the communications that affected several cities,” the organization said.

This is not the first time that Syria has seen interruptions for the Internet since the beginning of the year. Last January was recorded in the capital, Damascus and its countryside, and in February, as well as in early March, the Internet service was cut off in the south, especially in As -Suwayda and Daraa, and Syrian media said that the interruption was caused by sabotage operations.

A month ago, the Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the media office of the Ministry of Communications as saying that “the remnants of the ousted President Bashar al -Assad are seeking to destabilize security and stability across Syria, through the acts of sabotage and cuts of Internet delivery lines.”

The director of the Daraa Etisalat branch, Eng. Ahmed Al -Hariri, said that “the external communications and the Internet were cut off as a result of the infringement of the optical cable between Damascus and Daraa.”

Hariri called on citizens to protect communications infrastructure to ensure the continuity of services.
