An official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces announced that the southern military zone, in coordination with the military security services and the drug control administration, managed this evening, Monday, to thwart an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances by a plane on its western façade, within the area of its responsibility.
The source added, in a statement, that the border guards in the southern military zone applied the rules of engagement after monitoring and following up the plane, and it was dealt with and the plane was shot down inside Jordanian territory, and the seizures were transferred to the competent authorities.
The source emphasized that the Jordanian armed forces are working with full force and firmness to prevent these narcotic drugs from reaching the people of the homeland and influencing national security.
