Who is Salah Al -Bardawil?

Salah Al -Bardawil was born in Khan Yunis camp, south of the Gaza Strip, in 1959, and its origins return to the occupied town of Al -Joura, located in the Gaza district.

Salah Al -Bardawil obtained two bachelor’s degrees in the Arabic language from the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom at Cairo University in 1982, and a master’s degree in Palestinian literature from the Institute of Arab Studies and Research in Cairo in 1987, and obtained a doctorate in the same specialization from Sudan in 2001.

He started his working life in 1985 to teach at the basic stage, then a lecturer at Al -Aqsa University between 1990 and 1993, before moving to teaching at the Islamic University of Gaza.

Al -Bardawil holds the membership of the Palestinian Writers Union, and supervised the establishment of the National Assembly Association for Thought and Culture.

The occupation forces arrested Al -Bardawil in 1993, and under investigation was underway for more than two months in Gaza and Ashkalaan prisons, and it was the target of the Israeli occupation forces that destroyed his home more than once in all their wars on the Gaza Strip.

Al -Bardawil had a fingerprint in the media field, as he was the writer of a satirical weekly article in the newspaper Al -Resala called “from the streets of the homeland” in which he was integrating between reality, politics and criticism of power, which was the reason for his permanent summoning among the security services that arrested him more than once.
