The Spokesman for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Thomaso della Longa said on Friday that doctors in the Gaza Strip are formed, and that basic medical supplies are about to exist, pointing out that humanitarian aid has not reached Gaza for about 3 weeks as a result of the closure of the Israeli occupation of the crossings.
Longa – at a weekly press conference of the United Nations Office in Geneva – warned that the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance service was greatly affected by the depletion of fuel supplies, and that only 23 ambulances were left out of 53 that were operating before the closure of the crossings, due to lack of fuel.

He pointed out that the lack of water in the Gaza Strip; It leads to high rates of diseases, especially among children, highlighting that the Palestinian Red Crescent has received hundreds of phone calls during the past 48 hours in Gaza, where Israel continues its collective destruction.
He added: “Our teams indicate that the effect of chronic water shortage in Gaza has become increasingly sharp during the past three days. This means that the disease rates are high, especially among children.”

Longa called for the protection of civilians and humanitarian and medical workers, and to ensure the arrival of basic aid and services safely and without obstacles to all parts of the sector, stressing the need to open all existing border crossings to ensure a sustainable and expanded flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including medical supplies, food and fuel.
