The Syrian Kurds celebrated the first “Noruz” day after the fall of Bashar al -Assad’s regime last September, as they fired fireworks in the air and lit the spotlight.

Mashael Eid lit up different areas of the governorates of Hasaka, Raqqa and Aleppo, all the way to the capital, Damascus.

In the light of the flares of the glowing of the fire, the Kurds climbed to the mountain of Basita in the countryside of Afrin, north of Aleppo, in a similar tradition of the step they had made by the “Kawah”, which announced that he had set fire to the head of the mountain, the birth of a new day in the history of the Kurds after the elimination of the unjust ruler, who described it as feeding on the skulls of their children.

The birthday of Nowruz is known by different names, such as “Nuvoz”, “Nowruz”, “Navroz”, and “Nevruz”, and it is celebrated in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. It means “the new day” in the Persian language, and symbolizes the victory of good over evil and joy over sadness.
