Mirghani explained, during an entry on the “Cairo News” channel, that what happened on April 15, 2023 was not just a military battle, but rather a coup operation from inside the palace, where the forces that took control of it were the same one that was charged with protecting it, considering that the return of the army to the palace today confirms the Sudanese state regaining its legitimate institutions, stressing that the liberation of the entire state of Khartoum has become a matter of time, while some small pockets remain under the control of the rapid support forces.
He pointed out that the Sudanese army adopted the strategy to target the main force for rapid support instead of focusing only on the restoration of cities, which led to a comprehensive collapse of the Rapid Support Forces, and not just a setback in one battle.
