On Thursday, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attempt to assassinate Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, confirming that it was standing alongside Somalia in the face of terrorism and violence that threatens its stability and security.
The “Iraqi Foreign Ministry” – in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (conscious) – stressed the need to strengthen international efforts to combat terrorism and support peace in the region, and the importance of strengthening cooperation to confront joint security challenges.
