The Israeli occupation authorities continue to deprive 14 Palestinian freedom and the embrace of their children, as they fall into the occupation prisons from among 25 Palestinian prisoners who still suffer from very difficult and bad conditions.

A statement issued by the institutions of the Palestinian prisoners (the Prisoners Affairs Authority, the Palestinian Prisoner Club and the Conscience Foundation for Care of the Prisoner and Human Rights), on the occasion of Mother’s Day, which falls on March 21 of each year, stated that the last period was one of the bloodiest and brutal months against Palestinian women, as violations escalated systematically, especially with the continued brutal aggression and the war of genocide against the Palestinian people in all its places.

The occupation authorities have worked since the first days of the war on Gaza to launch widespread arrest campaigns that affected tens of thousands of citizens, including women and mothers.

He pointed out that the highest rate of arrests was recorded for women, as the occupation authorities arrested about 500 Palestinian women, including mothers and women who used hostages to pressure a family member to surrender.

The prisoners are exposed to harsh methods of investigation and interrogation, as they are forced to stand for long hours in inhumane conditions, are deprived of sleep and food, and they face constant threats of violence in all its forms, with the aim of extracting confessions or obtaining information, and many of them are deprived of speaking with their lawyers, which increases their suffering and leaves long -term effects on their physical and psychological health.

The statement pointed out that the occupation forces are holding the vast majority of prisoners in the “Damon” prison, which is considered one of the most prominent centers of detention of Palestinian women, as the prisoners in this prison face harsh conditions that have become more difficult after the seventh of October 2023, especially in the weeks that followed this date where they were subjected to continuous attacks that included solitary confinement and abuse by the repression units along with all confiscation of all Their personal property and depriving them of their most basic rights, including the right to communicate with their families and their children.

In the context of these continuous violations, the Prison Administration was applied – according to the statement – the policy of starvation, as the prisoners also prevented the rest of the prisoners from buying food and providing them with poor meals in terms of quantity and quality, as well as the policy of deliberate medical neglect against them in addition to that, overcrowding in prison increased the suffering of the prisoners, as many of them were forced to sleep on the ground in light of a severe shortage of clothes and covers, which were aggravated with the weather Cold.

He cautioned that the prisoners are not the only ones who taste the bitterness of isolation and deprivation, but the suffering extends to their families and mothers outside prisons, where thousands of Palestinian mothers live a daily concern about the fate of their detained children, without the ability to check on them or hear their voices, all the prisoners today, without exception, are deprived of communication with their families due to the repressive occupation measures that prevent visits And cut all means of communication.

The Palestinian bodies indicated that after the war of extermination and the land penetration launched by the occupation in the Gaza Strip, many Palestinian women were arrested in inhumane conditions, as an unknown number of them was arrested in the context of a systematic policy of the occupation aimed at revenge on the Palestinian people, specifically mothers, and the arrests included women of all ages, including mothers, students, activists, and even minors, and despite the absence of statistics The minute, the policy of forced disappearance was the lady of the situation.

It is worth noting that the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip left 49,547 martyrs, including 17 thousand and 881 children, 12 thousand and 298 women, in addition to the loss of 4,700 children and women. And that the total number of prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons is 9,500 prisoners, including 350 children and 25 women, in addition to 3405 administrative detainees.
