Lebanese Prime Minister of Germany’s Foreign Minister: Achieving stability in Lebanon starts from the south – the seventh day

Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam stressed that achieving stability in Lebanon starts from the south.

The Lebanese Prime Minister – during his meeting with German Foreign Minister Analina Perbuk today, Wednesday, pointed out that “achieving stability requires Lebanon’s support in various fields, especially in the reconstruction file, and in the economic sectors, especially since the government has resumed negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, set a comprehensive plan for reform, and committed reform in its ministerial statement, as a national need and necessity.”

He considered that “there is a serious opportunity in Syria with the result of the change that took place,” calling on “Germany to help provide the necessary requirements to restore the displaced Syrians in a way that matches the conditions of their generous and sustainable return.”

For its part, Berbuk confirmed – according to the National Media Agency in Lebanon – “The continued support of its country for Lebanon at this stage, through economic and social projects, in addition to the continued support of the Lebanese army and through participation in the UNIFIL forces.”

Perbuk attended the head of a delegation, which included: Representative Armenian Lashe, Germany’s ambassador to Lebanon, Court George Steakkle-Cleglerfield, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the German Foreign Ministry Tobia Tankl, a spokesperson for German Foreign Ministry Catherine Descagen, and Clemens Shore of the Office of the Foreign Minister.
