Russia’s representative at the United Nations: The suffering of people in Gaza should not be used as a war weapon – the seventh day

“The suffering of people in the Gaza Strip should not be used as a war weapon, blackmail, or tool to influence the international community as a whole, however this is exactly what is happening,” said Dmitry Polisky, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Nations to the United Nations.

According to the United Nations Media Center, Bolanski added that his country has “information that the Israeli army” is preparing for a ground operation in the Gaza Strip with the resumption of the Israeli Air Force.

He said that what Israel is doing “brought us back to a state of uncertainty”, with regard to the situation of the Palestinians, and stressed that the Security Council should do everything in his power to ensure the resumption of the ceasefire.

The representative of Russia stated that the council should learn the “bitter lesson” from its inability to make a decision on the ceasefire in the past, and its members must “not repeat this, because there are no political considerations that can justify such a delay, which has led to the loss of a large number of lives.”

The Russian ambassador expressed his deep concern about the continued attack on UNRWA, which he said was “political by nature.” He said that the international humanitarian bodies have proven their ability to work effectively in the sector and must be supported.
