The Arab League delegate calls on the Security Council to force Israel to stop starving Gaza – the seventh day

Ambassador Majid Abdel -Fattah Abdel Aziz, the permanent observer of the League of Arab States to the United Nations, announced that the resumption of intense Israeli military bombardment on the Gaza Strip and the intensification of the policy of starvation, siege and electricity cut off from vital installations, including the main water desalination plants – exacerbates the suffering of more than two million Palestinians living in harsh conditions.

The Arab League delegate stressed the inevitability that the UN Security Council will fulfill its responsibilities this time and to force Israel to fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire agreement, including opening all crossings to humanitarian aid, medical supplies, fuel and restoring electricity to the sector.

The representative of the Arab League announced his condemnation and rejection of these “inhumane measures”, which he said can only be described as “collective punishment that Israel is adopting against the Palestinian people, and in a manner that is inconsistent with the human values and principles on which this organization is based and is based.”

The UN official warned of “the consequences of the council’s failure to take these measures” and said that this warns of a major humanitarian catastrophe that will not be implemented by the Arab Group.

In this context, he stressed the importance of the humanitarian role played by UNRWA in Gaza, which he said cannot be replaced by any other party and stressed the importance of ensuring its continued performance of its vital services.
