The Swiss Parliament refuses to suspend aid to UNRWA – the seventh day

The Swiss State Council, “Parliament”, today, Tuesday, rejected a majority of 25 votes against 19, the decision to suspend Switzerland its contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works of Palestinian Refugees UNRWA.

The protesters believed that no other organization could take over the role of UNRWA in the fields of health, education and emergency aid, according to the Swiss “Lac” radio.

“It is not a matter of UNRWA, Hamas, or Israel, but rather to protect the civilian population who undergo a very difficult test,” said MP Isabelle Chasut of the Wasat Party.
