The United Nations Office on the coordination of humanitarian affairs has warned that the continuous blockade of Zamzam camp, outside the city of El Fasher, north Darfur in Sudan, exacerbates the suffering of thousands of displaced civilians who are struggling to survive months after the announcement of famine in the camp.
The deputy spokesman for the United Nations, Farhan Haq,, quoting the UN office, said that the crisis in the camp was exacerbated during the month of Ramadan, as the lack of food is increased, and the prices of basic commodities increased significantly, which made the basic materials unsuccessful for most families. UN partners on Earth are increasing signs of hunger.
Armed attacks continue throughout the road between Zamzam and Al -Fasher, with the reporting of many victims and injuries. One of the humanitarian partners in Zamzam warned that the presence of hand -made explosive devices inside the camp is also an increasing source of concern.
