The Secretary -General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jassem Mohamed El -Badawi, discussed, during his meeting, the Ukraine Private Envoy for Middle East and Africa, Dr. Maxim Sobh, in the Belgian capital, Brussels, on Monday, a number of topics, foremost of which are the developments of the Ukrainian -Russian crisis, on the sidelines of the Brussels IX conference on Syria.

Al -Badawi pointed out – in a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency – to the mediation efforts and initiatives made by the GCC countries and their good endeavors to contribute to reaching a political solution to the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, stressing that the GCC countries support all international and regional efforts to resolve the crisis by peaceful means.

Ukraine’s special envoy for Middle East and Africa affairs valuable efforts made by the countries of the Cooperation Council in mediation and providing humanitarian and relief aid to the Ukrainian people.
At the end of the meeting, the Ukraine envoy submitted an invitation from the Ukraine Foreign Minister to the Secretary -General to visit Ukraine during the coming period.
