The Sultanate of Oman affirmed its rejection of all forms of hatred and discrimination, calling for respect for religious and cultural diversity as a “cornerstone” of global peace and stability.
This came in a statement of the Sultanate of Oman delivered by Ambassador Omar bin Saeed Al -Kathiri, the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate to the United Nations in New York during the informal plenary session to celebrate the International Day to Combat Hathered Islam, in front of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

He called for the appeal of states to enact legislation to prevent incitement to hatred, behaviors that assault heavenly books and the sanctity of places of worship, insulting Islamic symbols and employing media and social media platforms to confront hate speech and spreading a culture of coexistence and respecting religious and cultural diversity.
