The Arab League will hold an international conference to combat “Islamophobia” next July – the seventh day

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, in cooperation with the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO), has announced the organization of the International Conference to Combat Hi Islam “under the slogan” Islamophobia: Concept and practice in light of the current global conditions “on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

This conference comes within the framework of facing the phenomenon of disturbing increase in the discourse of hatred and discrimination against the followers of the Islamic religion, which has exacerbated greatly as a result of global crises and disputes that deepen cultural and religious divisions between the peoples of the world, and the conference seeks to highlight this phenomenon and ways to confront it and enhance the values ​​of coexistence and mutual respect between the followers of religions. Fighting the hatred of Islam requires comprehensive strategies that enhance the values ​​of tolerance and cultural and religious diversity, including educational and media awareness of the importance of dialogue and non -discrimination, and supporting initiatives that enhance dialogue between religions and strengthen ties between different societies, and work towards building a comprehensive and fair society, celebrates religious and cultural diversity as a driving force towards progress and not an obstacle to growth in order to build a world of peace and understanding.

In this regard, Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector, expressed the commitment of the League of Arab States to make all efforts to combat all forms of hatred and discrimination, stressing that the Islamic religion calls for peace, justice and tolerance, and stressed the importance of international cooperation to correct stereotypes that still surround the Islamic religion. Her Excellency emphasized that education and awareness are two main pillars in confronting the negative stereotypes promoted against Islam and Muslims, which requires joint efforts to spread the values ​​of peace and openness.

The League of Arab States calls on all international parties to unify efforts to confront all actions of religious hatred and infringe on beliefs, and any act that will distort the image of religions and discriminate against persons on the basis of their religion or belief and combat all forms of discrimination and hate speeches. And the need to intensify efforts to encourage global dialogue on promoting a culture of tolerance and peace at all levels, respecting the religious diversity of building bridges of understanding and peaceful coexistence, and working together to get out of hate swirls and conflict towards a world that celebrates diversity and mutual respect.

In conclusion, the League of Arab States renews emphasizing its commitment to contributing to promoting noble human values ​​that call for tolerance, mutual respect and understanding between peoples in order to build a world of peace, love and brotherhood, free of hatred and discrimination.
