Bahrain announces the success of the operation of the “Al -Mundhir” satellite in its space in space – the seventh day

Today, Saturday, the Bahraini National Space Science Authority announced the success of the operation of the vowed satellite in its orbit, which is the first Bahraini satellite designed and implemented in the Kingdom.

The authority stated – in a statement reported by the Bahraini News Agency (BNA) – that the “Al -Mundhir” satellite managed to open its solar panels and its sensors and send the first sign successfully to the ground reception stations, and thus the safety of the satellite was confirmed.

It is noteworthy that the “Al -Mundhir” satellite was launched this morning using the (Falcon 9) missile, which was developed by (SpaceX), from Vandanderg Space Base in California, USA.

The CEO of the Bahraini National Space Science Authority, Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al -Asiri, stressed that the launch of the “Al -Mundhir” satellite represents an unprecedented achievement and reflects the Bahraini progress in the space sector.

He explained that “Al -Mundhir”, a nano -satellite weighing about 3.2 kg, is characterized by innovative technical loads, analysis and advanced data processing capabilities that enable him to work efficiently in the space environment.

He added that “Al -Mundhir” includes four main technical loads, which include a medium -resolution space camera dedicated to photographing Bahrain and its territorial waters, and a load of artificial intelligence that allows the analysis of satellite images directly on the moon, and it also contains a load of cybersecurity, which is a full Bahraini technology to protect the moon data through advanced encryption, indicating that the “Al -Mundhir” is equipped with a radio broadcasting load in order to enhance the national identity in The space, where the moon broadcasts the national anthem and a word to the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, through frequencies for wireless enthusiasts around the world, allowing the reception of broadcasting and identifying Bahrain’s satellite achievements.

Al -Asiri stressed that the “Al -Mundhir” project represents a national vision to settle space techniques in Bahrain, as the project contributed to enabling young Bahraini engineers to acquire comprehensive practical experiences in developing space systems, starting with planning and design to tests.
