Bahrain is entering the “satellite” club .. All you want to know about the moon “Al -Mundhir” – the seventh day

Bahrain announced today, Saturday, the success of the launch of “Al -Mundhir”, the first Bahraini satellite designed and implemented in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the President of the National Authority for Space Sciences in Bahrain, Dr. Muhammad Al -Asiri, revealed today, Saturday, the details and features of the satellite “Al -Mundhir”, which was fully developed and design within the Kingdom with Bahraini hands.

The “Al -Mundhir” satellite was successfully launched on the “Falcon 9” missile, to constitute an important step in the Bahrain march towards enhancing its position in the space sector, and Dr. Al -Asiri said that the satellite “Al -Mundhir” contains 4 advanced space loads, including: First: A medium -precision camera designed by Bahraini astronauts, and it is able to take high -quality images.

Second: The system of data analysis and satellite images supported by artificial intelligence, which allows the speed of data transfer, classification and archiving, thus improving energy efficiency and prolonging the operational moon.

Third: The satellite cyberspace security load, which is a unique technology that enhances the protection of satellite communications for Bahrain, and opens the way to participate in international space projects.

Fourth: The wireless communication system for radio enthusiasts, where the moon broadcasts a national message with the voice of His Majesty the King, may God protect and preserve him, in both Arabic and English, is directed to more than three million amateurs registered at the International Association of Wireless Amateers.

Dr. Al -Asiri explained that the primary goal of the moon is to collect and analyze space data and images to support government agencies and the private sector in Bahrain.

He stressed that the manufacture of the entire moon in Bahrain came as a continuation of the “Light 1” project, which was launched in 2021 in cooperation with the UAE, to enhance the benefit of acquired experiences and build a strong local technical base in the field of space.

Dr. Al -Asiri pointed out that the “Al -Mundhir” moon employs artificial intelligence techniques intensively, as it is used advanced algorithms to analyze and classify data on board the moon itself, which reduces the need for continuous communication with the ground stations and contributes to reducing the time of data processing.

He stressed that this technology allows Bahrain to overcome the challenges of the small geographical area and achieve the maximum benefit from space resources.

He also pointed out that the launch of “Al -Mundhir” is an official advertisement that Bahrain entered the club of countries that possess and manages industrial satellites, noting that the Kingdom is planning larger satellite projects that extend to further orbits.
