Lebanese President: Restore confidence in Lebanon is a priority that requires comprehensive economic and banking reforms – the seventh day

Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun stressed that restoring confidence in Lebanon internally and externally is the priority, pointing out that this requires comprehensive reforms in the economic and banking conditions.

Aoun stressed – during a meeting of the Lebanese Council of Ministers today, Thursday, where he revealed important developments related to the financial, economic and security affairs, according to the National Information Agency in Lebanon – the need for cooperation between all the authorities and the concerned authorities to achieve these goals.

The Lebanese President said that the budget of the year 2025 was signed, and that he directed the Minister of Finance to monitor the expenses and provide the government with periodic reports. He also reviewed the results of his meeting with the International Monetary Fund delegation, pointing to the formation of a ministerial committee to follow up the Fund’s recommendations, stressing the importance of reaching an agreement with the fund before the summer.

He pointed out that the delegation of the International Monetary Fund stressed the necessity of comprehensive economic, financial and banking reforms, including the appointment of a ruler of the Bank of Lebanon, the establishment of a unified data center for the Ministry of Finance, the amendment of the Banking Secret Law, and the approval of the law of restructuring banking.

Aoun confirmed the follow -up of the Lebanese security services for developments in Syria, and to the release of five Lebanese prisoners by Israel as a result of indirect negotiations.
