Hamas warns of famine in Gaza, during the month of Ramadan – the seventh day

Hamas warned of a “new famine” in the Gaza Strip due to the continued Israeli siege and the adoption of starvation policies even during the month of Ramadan.

The movement’s spokesman, Abd al -Latif al -Qanoua, said in a statement that the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip “suffer a strict siege for the second week, and the Israeli occupation prohibits the introduction of food, medicine, fuel and basic materials,” which is considered a “new starvation crime.”

Al -Qanouk considered that what the Israeli occupation practiced is a “new starvation crime” against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

He added that “the next few days will witness a loss of a number of basic materials and food commodities in the Gaza Strip, which increases the suffering of the population and exacerbates their crisis.”

He addressed the international community, warning, “Unless the international community should assume its responsibilities towards the Gaza Strip, its inhabitants will suffer again during the month of Ramadan.”

In the context, Al -Qanouk called the brokers to “exercise more pressure on the Israeli occupation to open the crossings, flow of humanitarian aid and stop the policy of collective punishment against our people.”

Since the beginning of March, Israel has prohibited the introduction of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where Tel Aviv has been disposed of basic items in the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement in the Strip.
