The Constitutional Declaration Committee in Syria: Determining the period of the transitional phase by 5 years – the seventh day

The Constitutional Declaration Committee in Syria named the Syrian President of the Transitional Phase Ahmed Al -Shara is a draft of the declaration he signed and said: “We hope that this is a new date for Syria and we replace ignorance of knowledge and torment with mercy”, while the committee confirmed “the period of the transitional period by 5 years.”

The committee pointed out, in a press conference attended by Al -Shara in Damascus, that “the committee worked in a space of freedom without restriction, and the state’s commitment to the unity of the land and the people and respect for cultural privacy.”

She pointed out that “we were keen on a special door for rights and freedoms to create a balance between community security and freedom,” noting that “the text of the declaration on the rights of opinion, expression, media, publishing and the press and stipulated that the right of ownership and the right of women to participate in work and science.”

The committee explained that “the constitutional declaration stipulated freedom of opinion, expression, press, publishing and the complete separation between the authorities,” noting that “we kept the requirement that Islamic jurisprudence is the primary source of legislation

She stressed that “the People’s Assembly has the right to summon and interrogate the ministers,” adding, “The announcement provides for the importance of the judges, their rulings and their independence,” and the order to isolate the president of the country or his dismissal or reduce its powers to the People’s Assembly, according to the committee that indicated that “we worked to dissolve the existing constitutional court.”

The Constitutional Declaration Drafting Committee explained that “controlling the declaration of the state of emergency with the approval of the National Security Council and mortgaging it with the approval of the People’s Assembly,” noting that “the People’s Assembly takes over the legislative process and the president of the country takes over the executive authority.”
