European Commission: The “Syrian Support Conference” will be an occasion to exchange views with the authorities in Damascus – the seventh day

European Commission spokeswoman Anita Hyper confirmed that the “Syrian Support Conference”, which will be held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, will be an occasion to exchange views with the Syrian authorities.

Hyper said in a statement on Tuesday that the conference will be an important occasion to continue exchanging views with the Syrian authorities on the situation on the ground, and also to understand how to provide the best support.

He added, “We are all interested in the stability of Syria … It is important that this work is done to achieve this and this can only happen through a comprehensive transition because there is no alternative to that.”

She pointed out that the conference represents a “very important occasion” to communicate with the Syrian authorities regarding the current situation inside the country and evaluate the best ways through which the European Union can provide support.

She stated in her statement: “On our part, we must spare no effort to support a peaceful and comprehensive transition away from any foreign interference that guarantees the rights of all Syrians without discrimination.”

Hyper announced that Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al -Shaibani is invited to attend the “Syrian Support Conference”.

It is scheduled to be the conference organized by the European Union annually since 2017, under the title “Standing with Syria: To meet the needs of successful transition”, the first to be held since the overthrow of the Assad regime three months ago.
