Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nippinsia, confirmed that the United Nations Security Council members are united in their position on the inadmissibility of violence in Syria.
“The council was united in what we discussed today, and everyone spoke, and I cannot say with one voice, but everyone stressed that what happened was permissible, from mass killing and violence in the Syrian coast.
This statement came against the backdrop of the recent violence events in the villages and cities of the Syrian coast, as on Thursday, violent clashes erupted in the city of Jableh in western Syria and in several areas of the city of Latakia and the mountainous areas in the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous, between the Syrian security forces and armed groups opposing the new government in Damascus.
