Lazarini said, in a press release published today on the official website of UNRWA, that the closure of the UN agency will lead to serious repercussions in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
He added that this matter would create an environment in which children are deprived of education, and prevent people from reaching basic services, which constitutes a threat to peace and stability in the region and abroad.

He continued: “Instead, UNRWA can be supported to gradually end its mandate in the framework of a political process that leads to enabling and preparing Palestinian institutions within the project of the two -state solution.”
