Continuous clashes and interruptions with services .. The latest developments in the Syrian coast – the seventh day

The situation continues to deteriorate in areas of the Syrian coast, in light of the interruption of electricity, water and communications services in large areas in Lattakia countryside, while the new administration forces in the country continue their confrontation with the elements of the previous regime.

On Sunday, the official Syrian News Agency (SANA) said that forces from the Ministry of Defense and Public Security had confronted an attack “from the remnants of the defunct regime” on the Syrian fuel company in Lattakia.

While security reinforcements from different regions reached the Syrian coast, to support the security forces in the confrontations, which are still continuing in rural areas.

In this regard, the deputy director of the Syrian Civil Defense Organization, Farouk Habib, explained that “there are no accurate numbers for the victims of the events in the coast, especially with the inability of the civil defense teams to reach all areas due to the security conditions.”

Habib pointed out that “most of the incidents took place in areas where civil defense teams, or the Syrian Red Crescent, do not spread.”

He also pointed out that “the situation is sensitive and complex, as the clashes are still a circle in rural areas, which hinders the arrival of civil defense teams.”

He continued, “So far, we have dealt with dozens of fires in homes or shops, and dozens of emergency ambulances, and we transported the bodies and we have postponed many families, especially in Banias and Lattakia.”

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated, on Sunday, the interruption of electricity and drinking water services from large areas in Lattakia countryside, for the second day in a row, which led to the interruption of services, especially communications in some areas.

In statements, at dawn on Sunday about the situation in Syria, the head of the transitional phase, Ahmed Al -Shara, said that the events in the country, specifically in the Sahel region, are “expected challenges.”

He stressed “the necessity of preserving civil peace and national unity,” adding: “We are able to live together in this country as much as possible.”
